1-How To Clean Mesh Gutter Guard When Clogged

Mesh gutter guard systems may be one way of keeping leaves from getting into your gutter system, but the question is will you wind up having to clean your mesh gutter guard when clogged?

1.   The less expensive ones either have large openings, or allow debris to get into the gutter and clog it, or they are flimsy and easily blown out and get dislodged by wind storms or even a squirrel or bird.

2.   The expensive ones tend to be made of stainless steel mesh—they never rust, which is their only advantage. With the fine mesh screen, debris never gets into the gutter. That’s a fact!

However, as debris is washed onto them from the roof, because the water that washes the debris onto them is accepted through them, there is no water left to flush the debris onto the ground.  Don’t depend on the wind to blow it off—it’s not an ideal world being on top of a gutter.

Result: debris accumulates on top of these expensive screens (as much as$24/ft) and soon there is no space for the rain water to go through the screen resulting in massive overflow of water from the screens being clogged.

Once your screens are blocked, the gutters are pretty much useless at taking the water away from your foundation and protecting your roof from rot. Please, watch this video and you’ll see the difference a strong gutter system can make!
